about

“Appalachian Morning” is Paul Halley’s prelude for Earth: Voices of a Planet, an album created for the 20th anniversary of Earth Day as a tribute to our beautiful, beleaguered home. The Consort wanted to honor all seven continents and the oceans with compositions incorporating remarkable voices from each habitat: the African elephant, the musical wren of the Amazon, the Australian lyre-bird, the spotted owl, the European blackbird, the orca, the winds of Antarctica, and the Dmitri Pokrovsky Singers of Russia.
