about

From the album "Callings."Listening through many hours of humpback whale recordings, Paul Winter found this eight-note melody which sounded to him like a lullaby. Knowing that the whales' voices carry for hundreds, if not thousands of miles through the ocean, he imagined this lullaby resonating through the sea to surround and protect the newborn harp seals when the seal clubbers came.
