This song is a weaving of two very old Christmas songs, “Sussex Carol” and “Quem Pastores Laudavere.” For the Wintersong album, the Consort collected an alluring collection of lesser-known Christmas songs, and explored the ways they could give them a special life with their ensemble of instruments.
