about

Part I:
MANY PATHS TO
PARADISE

The saxophone was invented in France by Adolphe Sax in 1841. It is made of brass, and played with a single-reed mouthpiece similar to that of the clarinet. Sax wanted to create an instrument that would have the vocal quality of the woodwinds and the projection of a brass instrument. I play the soprano saxophone, one of the 11 members of the saxophone family.

Interlude: Voice of the Hoopoe
(Asian bird that winters in India)
